from Wicked
Winner of over 50 major awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards®, WICKED is the untold story of the witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. WICKED tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” Wicked has been hailed by The New York Times as “the defining musical of the decade.” Time Magazine cheers, “if every musical had the brain, the heart, and the courage of Wicked, Broadway really would be a magical place.”

Declared “The Best Musical of the Decade” by Entertainment Weekly and “A Cultural Phenomenon” by Variety, WICKED is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by Joe Mantello with musical staging by Wayne Cilento.

We have seen many Broadway plays and Wicked was one we wanted to see again. Interesting this time is there was a different story from the first time we saw it several years ago. One of the most memorable parts of the play was the same both times, I won’t spoil it for you but it happens just before intermission. If this moment doesn’t give you chills you better go see a doctor. The whole play is very entertaining and it’s cool to recall all the characters who were in the black and white version of the Wizard of Oz (giving my age away).

My family loved this show! Not a dull moment and the characters were so spot on! We got to meet 3 of them and get autographs after the show at the stage door! My daughter couldn't believe how they were coming out of the theater looking like normal people instead of characters! 😂 The orchestra and musicians were superb. Such beautiful music. The ending was a shocker for me! Definitely recommend!

I've never been to a Broadway Show- But I have to say that I was amazed by everything! From the smoothness of getting in, to the theatrics- to the acting and singing- I was truly amazed! It was very well performed. The singing was awesome and the story line took me back to my younger days, watching the Wizard of Oz! I have to admit that I was hesitant when my wife booked the tickets, as I wasn't sure if it was my kind of thing...Well- it was! The staff were very accommodating and helpful, making it easy to find our way around. I cant wait to come back for another show! I was so glad that I went!!
