Description

from Wicked
Winner of over 50 major awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards®, WICKED is the untold story of the witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. WICKED tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” Wicked has been hailed by The New York Times as “the defining musical of the decade.” Time Magazine cheers, “if every musical had the brain, the heart, and the courage of Wicked, Broadway really would be a magical place.”

Declared “The Best Musical of the Decade” by Entertainment Weekly and “A Cultural Phenomenon” by Variety, WICKED is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by Joe Mantello with musical staging by Wayne Cilento.

This show is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes (1 intermission). Recommended for ages 8 years and up. Children under 5 years will not be permitted in the theatre.

Loved seeing Wicked! Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was entertaining and funny and made me think about Oz a little differently. Theatre seating was spacious and comfortable.

This was my 5th time seeing this amazing show and it still leaves me with goosebumps watching it. The theatre itself is beautiful with comfortable seats. The production is out of this world and the timing immaculate. The show itself is one of the best written scripts and score ever. The whole cast are phenomenal and special mention to Rondi Reed who shines as Madame Morrible. Singing is wonderful and the story is one I adore, as I said before it turns everything you think you know about the Wizard of Oz on its head. This was my husband’s first time seeing it and he thought it was the best show he has ever seen. Don’t miss this show....it really is the best around.

Get your tickets at the theatre instead of on line. We saved a lot of money and had excellent seats. There was 3 of us and we all agreed that the money was well worth it. Great show! None of us had ever been to NY and I was kind of surprised that the theatre seating wasn't as big as what I pictured. That being said there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The show started on time and was shown to our seats, no waiting in line. There are a few spots in the theatre for taking pictures. Great experience!
