"The best feature in NYC!"
March, 2016
My husband and I attended this broadway the first week of March 2016. We were a little skeptical as our favorite version of the show is the 25th anniversary show at the Royal Albert Hall. We were NOT disappointed with this broadwAy production in NYC. It was everything we expected and more and loved every minute of it. We purchased our tickets through Reserve NYC and got 2nd row seats for discounted prices!

The Phantom of the Opera is my all time favorite play and to have an opportunity to see it center stage just a couple of rolls back in New York City on Broadway is an experience like no other and I will remember this always. Couldn't have gotten this great seat if it hadn't been for reserve new york.

I loved the musical. The effects they had were amazing. I didn't expect it from a theatrical performance. The best seats are in orchestra. Mezzanine is way higher, and you see the stage from the top. It's tolerable but not very convinient. The theater is a very old and beautiful building. Arrive earlier because you have to stay in a very long line to check your purses. After you enter, you get into a lobby where everyone stays until about 20 minutes before the performance starts. It gets very crowded there to the point when you can't squeeze between people. They also have a bar and a tiny gift shop in the same lobby. The prices are on a high side. A small bottle of water costed $5. A cup of wine of a size of a medium coffee was $16. I have read advice to dress nicely. However, people were wearing shorts, jeans, tank tops, etc. So, I wouldn't really worry about clothes. Also, taking photos is prohibited during the performance.

Knowing the original story you'll surely enjoy this play, with extraordinary singers showing a great voice scale register, ppp control, contrasting fortissimos, nice expression with tiny detunes almost imperceptibles if your musical ear is the not trained. Scenary movements, secret passages and firework shotguns make the show complete. I went out with the sensation of well spent money.

This show is not a Broadway play, it’s an opera with very little storyline. Wanted to leave at intermission but my wife wouldn’t let me. Way too much pyrotechnics. If the theater catches on fire we’re all dead. It’s happened before. Now I’m going to read on the internet what this show was supposed to be about.
