from School of Rock
Based on the hit film, School of Rock follows Dewey Finn (Alex Brightman in what The Hollywood Reporter calls “a hilarious, star-making performance”). A failed, wannabe rock star, Dewey decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out? While teaching these pint-sized prodigies what it means to truly rock, Dewey falls for the school’s beautiful, but uptight headmistress, helping her rediscover the wild child within.

This high-octane smash delivers face-melting guitar riffs performed live by an incredibly talented cast of youngsters and touching romance in equally awesome doses! Featuring 14 new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber and all the original songs from the movie, School of Rock is a full-throttle tribute to the power of music. The Huffington Post raves, “Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical blows the roof off the theater!” and Time Out New York cheers, “School’s in – FOREVER!”

“For those about to love School of Rock, we salute you!” (Time Out New York). This hit Broadway musical is a New York Times Critics’ Pick and “an inspiring jolt of energy, joy and mad skillz!” (Entertainment Weekly). Reuters raves ”Andrew Lloyd Webber has Broadway rocking!”

This show is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes (1 intermission). Recommended for ages 8 years and up.

The show was wonderful! I saw kids were there having a great touching and inspiring lesson. But, one of the staff was really rude, who pushed me impatiently, when I was entering the theatre. Sad but true, some part of the Big Apple is rotten

My family and I make an effort to see a Broadway show every few months. Our proximity to NYC, makes this possible. Whether, you frequent the theater or are looking for a first time experience for your children (9-teen), I highly recommend School of Rock. The show is truly fun and energetic. Adults will enjoy the amusing inferences to 70s rock bands and the kids will enjoy the story. The roles are well casted. It is guaranteed to be a memorable night for all who attend.
