from School of Rock
Based on the hit film, School of Rock follows Dewey Finn (Alex Brightman in what The Hollywood Reporter calls “a hilarious, star-making performance”). A failed, wannabe rock star, Dewey decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out? While teaching these pint-sized prodigies what it means to truly rock, Dewey falls for the school’s beautiful, but uptight headmistress, helping her rediscover the wild child within.

This high-octane smash delivers face-melting guitar riffs performed live by an incredibly talented cast of youngsters and touching romance in equally awesome doses! Featuring 14 new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber and all the original songs from the movie, School of Rock is a full-throttle tribute to the power of music. The Huffington Post raves, “Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical blows the roof off the theater!” and Time Out New York cheers, “School’s in – FOREVER!”

“For those about to love School of Rock, we salute you!” (Time Out New York). This hit Broadway musical is a New York Times Critics’ Pick and “an inspiring jolt of energy, joy and mad skillz!” (Entertainment Weekly). Reuters raves ”Andrew Lloyd Webber has Broadway rocking!”

This show is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes (1 intermission). Recommended for ages 8 years and up.

It was fun. It was my 22 year old daughters first play and she loved it. The kids in the play were very professional and talented. Glad we seen it. Front row balcony are still the best seats at any play.

I highly recommend seeing this show. It was reasonably priced compared to some of the other shows on broadway. I got the cheapest seats but I felt they were still really good!!! This show is amazing, the kids and other actors are all so talented. I would definitely go and see it if you get the opportunity. Only down side is wine at the theatre is 15 dollars a glass lol, but otherwise WONDERFUL

Just off Broadway north of Times Square NYC....This is a very dynamic show, full of energy. We had some doubts because the cast is 80% children and thought it might be just for kids, and the audience might be full of screamers, but the story is still adult, with a mixed cast and the evening show was great. The music is rocky style, nothing too dark, the kids actually play the instruments at a perfection standard and the story line is interesting, It's a feel-good show which had the audience give a standing ovation at the end.
