The Paul Hotel is a family owned business which strives to replicate their own family values throughout their organization. Hotel guests are indulged with a clear, direct, and focused attention to their needs. A Paul guest is greeted with utilitarian effort and an easy going atmosphere. The Paul Hotel is home to Paul the Nomad who is planting his roots at 32 West 29th street; in his home Paul guests are the priority.

Inspired by the mercantile history of the Flower District, the newly constructed 21-story, 50,000 square foot building was designed by Matt Markowitz Architects and Sharma Group Development. The hotel takes its cue from the history and character of the surrounding NoMad neighborhood with details inspired by the textures and energies of the city and its iconic skyline. The NoMad areas resurgence is due to the legacy of its fine architecture and the beautifully restored Madison Square Park.

From your first step into Paul's Drawing Room, you will be immersed in the distinctive, boutique character of THE PAUL. The design of its 122 residential-style guest rooms with expansive loft-style windows impart a light and airy atmosphere offering dramatic and unparalleled views of The Empire State Building to the North and The Freedom Tower to the South. All of PAUL's guestrooms are custom designed and softly integrate the urban landscape of the local neighborhood in unexpected and playful ways. The interior design team was led by Ronica Sharma of Sharma Group Development.

Besides small details here and there, The Paul Hotel is a good solution to stay in New York for a few days. There's rooms that are small, especially the ones with the bunk bed. The king size bed room are great, large and comfy. The staff is ok. The decoration is a bit outdated and dark, I personally didn't like.

Stayed at The Paul for one night at a business trip which was perfect. Room was on 11th floor, small but clean. Perfect location downtown so very efficient for a business trip. Not suitable for longer stays or with children. Be aware there is a huge construction site just opposite the hotel. However, you can see the Empire State Building from your room (if facing to Main Street). Also, the hotel has a small but nice roof top bar with great views. Also mind, that it takes a few minutes to get hot water for the shower, so be patient.

"Not a family friendly hotel"

Never book anything non refundable . Big mistake. Booked because room was "perfect" for 2 adults and 2 kids, because there was a rooftop terrace, a restaurant on site and breakfast. Also central. The room is so tiny we can not turn around without bumping into something. No place for suitcases. A/C is Right up against bed and bed Shakes and the noise is going Right in the matteess. Just a sliding door to bathroom - no privacy. The rooftop terrace is a non kid friendly bar, and is rented out to closed events. The "restaurAnt" is not run by hotel they said, when I asked if we could expect more of what was on the menu, to be available(unfortunately tired kids dont really allow dinong around town every Night, why it was important). It feels like you enter a grotto.dark unfriendly.breakfast is in a concrete decor cold basement. The block is not family friendly ! I do not recommmend this place! I tried everything I could to cancel right after booking since some reviews implied this was not a family friendly space. I also tried upon arrival. Even have the last week refunded. It is upto hotel to decide, and a 15 night family vacation is long, not like a weekend stay where you survive... Status: kids are super stressed , feel cramped up in here and can't even cool down with a/c because it is right on the bed. This place is not suitable for long stays and notsuitable for families. Extremely sad and unhappy and still have 11 days left and just wish we could at least have gotten one out of the two weeks refunded, so we could find a more family friendly hotel with the space (lobby, lounge, restaurant). The neighbours must be grateful for the earplugs supplied here-since unhappy 6 and 8 yr old are turning into two fighting and unhappy Boys......

Great location near Madison Square Park, Empire State Building, and Times Square. Subway one short block away on 28th St. Hotel was beautiful, just 1 1/2 years old. Had a two queen with patio. Beds great, shower great and it was a decent sized room for NYC. Staff I encountered were both professional and pleasant. Roof top bar has amazing views. Unfortunately bar was closed for a private party after dark so we missed the night view of the Empire State Building from the roof. Manager left a handwritten note in the lobby thanking us as Choice Privilege members for choosing their hotel. Very well thought out room design. Funky lamps. Very clean. Only downside was horrible wifi and a $1 and change surcharge for the complimentary breakfast.

I had high hopes for this hotel. We stayed here for three nights. We had a nice view from a high floor. It's in a great location. We had a package that included breakfast vouchers, but there was still a small fee for the adults to eat. The food was adequate. The room was smaller than expected for a double room, but I can accept that being it's NYC. However, we had to call the front desk every night for maintenance because our air con stopped working. They had to fix it three times. Keep in mind that the temps were in the high 90s our entire stay. Even with this happening I was still going to give the hotel four stars. However, we came downstairs one morning to find the young lady behind the front desk cursing and loudly talking about her private life. She was talking about how she was going to go to her boyfriend's work and get him fired (I'm not going to repeat verbatim what she said, but it included quite a few f-bombs). I was traveling with a child who didn't need to hear or see that. Frankly, I didn't need it either with the amount of money we paid to stay there. I wasn't able to get her name, and in hindsight I should have reported it to a manager right away. As much as I hate to let one incident cloud my opinion of this hotel, in the hospitality industry first impressions are everything. I found the behavior of that employee completely unprofessional. I will not be staying here again.
