We stayed at The Paul for 5 nights whilst in New York and could not fault it. The rooms are a little on the small side but who wants to stay in their room other than to sleep when in a city like this!? The room was immaculately clean, with a nice bathroom, including a huge waterfall style shower, which was lovely! The bed was also one of the comfiest we’ve ever slept on. The hotel provides ear plugs, but we did not have a need for them as noise was not an issue. We had breakfast included which was handy, but nothing special, but it set us up for the day anyway. The location of the hotel is perfect, about a 10 minute walk from Times Square, and there is a subway located on 28th St. The only small issue we had one day was a broken lift, meaning we had to trek down 17 floors which was a mission! We were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the Empire State Building, which was amazing to look at first thing in the morning, and last thing at night all lit up. The only thing which would of bettered this would be a clean window, but being 17 floors up, I see how this can’t be helped. Overall, the hotel was everything we needed and expected, and would highly recommend it!

On my recent visit to The Paul I stayed in two rooms. I arrived a day early to bear a blizzard so checked in about mid-night. Check in was easy and I was told that my original reservation was a larger room and that I would need to check out and then check back in in the morning. The room was pre-paid, but they did ask for a credit card to place a hold in case I had other charges or damage. The original room was small. On the window side of the bed, you had to slide your feet sideways to get past the a/c unit. The room was clean, but a few minor issues. The desk was nice, but the built in plug was broken and no other plugs near the desk. Ther was a Kerigcoffee maker which was a nice touch. Bathroom had a walk in shower instead of a tube. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were provided by dispensers in the shower. There were cute round bars of soap, shower caps and small bottles of lotion by the sink. In the morning I checked out at 11 and had to wait about an hour to check back in. I was given the offer to stay in the room, but I had already packed up and carried my luggage to the lobby. Since I was going to be there for 4 nights, I wanted the addition space. The second room had more space, but the same bathroom design. Most of the floor was solid surface, but the bed sat on a rug than extended about a foot beyond the bed on all sides so you didnt step out of bed onto a cold floor. Room was clean except some small stains on the rug. There was a view of the Empire State Building from the room, but unfortunately the windows were a bit dirty which detracted from the view. There is a new hotel being constructed directly across the street so there was construction noise that was noticeable. The hotel did provide ear plugs which I didn’t use. The two elevators were a bit slow, and people on lower floors were complaining that multiple elevators showed up with no space to board. WiFi was generally good, but occasionally a bit slow. The location of the hotel was very good for me.

We stayed @ the Paul while visiting the city for a Billy Joel concert at Madison Square Garden. It is a short walk from Penn Station to the hotel. Marie was very helpful at the front desk providing recommendations for happy hour (the Harold ..excellent choice) . Room was nice and a good value even if it was a little small. There is a construction project across the street but it didn't detract from the experience. There's always good coffee available in the lobby and the secure luggage storage enabled us to extend our stay until later in the evening. Overall a great experience and we will be returning to this hotel

We had a double double bed room in the back. It was small but had all the amenities we need -- and was the quietest hotel room we have ever stayed in in NYC over the past fifty years! The location is close to all subway lines and easy walking from many great restaurants and museums. Hot breakfast buffet is a lovely deal. For $10 they will make you oatmeal, pancakes, grilled cheese, scrambled eggs to order in addition to the regular buffet line -- and pass out chef's choices of the day. I can't say enough about how friendly and accommodating the breakfast staff and the main desk are. Helpful, smiling, patient, and caring. Thank you, Paul Hotel. We will be back. The reason I didn't give five stars is that the rooms are small and the view is a brick wall (NYC). It's not a luxury hotel. But it is just what we wanted.

Stayed for the New Year’s ball drop, hotel is in a great location, close to a subway station and walking distance of many places. We stayed in a bunkbed room, which was tiny. It had the basics as a small closet that fits maybe a backpack or a small luggage. Bathroom was small too. I’m not a big guy but had to maneuver in the bathroom just to dry and get dressed.. The good thing is that if you are in New York you only need a place to sleep and that is close to everything. We had a great view of the Empire State building thru our room’s window. Hopefully the hotel that is being built across the street doesn’t block the view..
