The size of the suites are great. Very generous with separate living which is great if you’re walking a lot! The bathrooms are terrible and there is no wifi without huge cost! Ridiculous in 2018! It is in a good position to walk and use subway to see the city but the comfort is only average with a pretty high price tag. I’m due you could do better.

    "Great Location, no wi-fi"

The Salisbury Hotel is an older building. The floors creaked little like my Grandmother's house. This adds to the charm. Our suite was huge! Large bedroom, two closets, small bathroom but adequate, large living room with another closet, and kitchenette with sink. Ate breakfast in the room every day. Nice Grocery is across the street. I asked for a quiet room and got one! Faced the back of the building. The location is really good. Close to Central Park, close to subway lines. Area felt extremely safe. In fact I never felt unsafe anywhere in Manhattan. Property is so expensive it truly keeps out the rif-raf. But to have wi-fi you must pay. Was going to be over $50 for two people to use it for the week. So I opted not to buy it. My cell signal was good so I didn't need it until it was time to check in for my flight home. For some reason I couldn't download my boarding pass. Used the computers in the lobby but had to pay $3.99 for the privilege of using it for 15 minutes. Don't really understand the lack of wifi. I paid over $2,000. for my hotel stay for the week. Really think wi-fi should be included.

We spent a week for vacations, the hotel is an old building, don't expect a Hampton inn or similar,No free wife or breakfast. but for the price you pay you got access for a real good location, 2 blocks from central park and 5th ave. 5 blocks to time square and Rockefeler center. At 3rd night we had a problem with the room and they upgrade us to a suite real quick, a fast responce which is great. I recomend you to ask for a room in the back side of the building because in the main street is to noisy.

"Brilliant location! Tired but comfortable hotel"

I stayed here for 7 nights with a friend whilst visiting The Big Apple. The hotel is in a brilliant location. Having met with various New Yorkers, it’s situated in what’s known as one of the ‘posh’ and ‘rich’ areas, so rest assured the area is great. The hotel is situated between two subway lines, either side of the hotel, each about 100 metres which connect you with the whole of New York, as well as the train from JFK airport. It has plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance, as well as a 24 hour supermarket opposite. You can walk to Times Square in about 10/15 minutes and we did this every day. Central Park is situated behind the hotel and can be reached in less than a 5 minute walk. Needless to say, the hotel is in a superb location. It doesn’t matter what hotel you stay in, you’re always going to be a trek away from something but the 24 hour subway helps with that or you can just walk, as we did. It’s a walking city after all. The hotel itself is slightly tired and whilst it could so with modernisation, it is extremely clean and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and helpful enough, as was the bell boys. We actually opted for a street facing room and wasn’t really affected at all by the noise. In fact, we sometimes slept with the window open. Hotels in New York are generally for sleeping in as people are out all day, every day, so for a base, it was perfect and done the job, particularly for its massively reduced price compared to most others. I’d happily stay at the hotel again and would recommend it to people who fall into similar trips to as I’ve described.
