"Old, comfy and bad wifi"

Very close to Central Park and has a great Deli opposite. The room was big with 2 decent size beds. Amazingly they charge you a lot of $ for wifi. In this day and age it should be included in the costly city price. The room could have been cleaner but the good fridge was a bonus. Excellent access to the subway.

The hotel kindly switched me to a king from a double full size bed. They said it was not the norm however. Not a bad stay for a couple of days. I thought the bed was great and the hotel was well located.

"Overpriced and Disgusting"

Needing to stay somewhere in the vicinity of 57th street, after looking into hotels this was the only only one with a price that O could even justify paying (an exorbitant $315 a night all in all). But I figured, given that it is supposedly a 3 star hotel, for the money I would at least be receiving a quality room with a fine place to sleep for a few nights. WRONG! Upon first entering, I soon realized that this place made the haunted mansion look contemporary, and fully expected the twins from the Shining to pop up at any moment. Dirt caked the side of the bathroom counter and the pull out was older than cobwebs hanging from the lamps. At least the service was friendly...WRONG AGAIN! After booking a king suite (which did not happen), and complaining of the disgusting, moldy bathroom, the manager basically said screw you, and took $30 off the first night, only to charge and extra $50 for the final night! But after all, it was a sufficient place to sleep...yet again...WRONG! If you ever wanted an idea of what the true horrors of mid-night traffic in NYC are like, stay at the Salisbury. Every car engine, horn, (not to mention) yelling, and sirens, can all be detected quite clearly (from the 15th floor!), on account of their 70's style window a/c units. Before booking, even as a last resort, just keep in mind that you cannot even sleep properly, not that you'd want to, at this overpriced, vile, and ancient hotel!

"Terrible"

I wished i had checked this on Trip Advisor first! Hotel is old. Not updated in years. Its is clean and fresh on the surface - ie the bedding, but retains the original features from the 1970s including all the dirt! Noise - horrendous!! I got up in the night to close the windows, whilst a pnumatic drill was going at 3am, but the windows were already closed! You can hear everything! People talking, cars running over drain covers - thats on top of the constant horn honking which everyone seems to be so trigger happy doing. 3 nights of expensive sleep depravation...... Hotel does not offer food. Has no kitchen - wouldnt have eaten there if it had anyhow!

"Great place to stay"

The hotel was a great place to stay as the subway and many tourist attractions like Times Square and Central Park was nearby. Also, there is a parking lot designated for the hotel. One downside to the place was the internet as it cost to use it.
