A room recommendation by Eduard at check-in was more than worth the upgrade. We had 2935 directly across from the "new year's ball" and that was exciting for the two teens with us. We all spent some time at that floor to ceiling window. More importantly the room and the hotel were spotless, well supplied and all staff were friendly and helpful. We had lunch at Crossroads and it was one of the best in a hotel I've ever had.

Just because it's a business trip is no reason we can't at least enjoy our lodging. We've been staying at the Times Square Marriott Marquis 4 to 6 times a year for many years. As a Platinum Elite business traveler I'm placed in the club section where I can have a quick bite, hot breakfast and a hot starter before dinner, a nice size room, great bed and enjoy the part of the trip when I'm not selling. Everyone treats me well, and then I'm on my way... knowing I have someplace comfortable waiting for me for my next Big Apple trip

Would have liked to have an updated coffee/tea maker, like a Keurig. Tub floor was cracked. Hotel people were very nice and helped with directions etc. Beds were comfortable and TV was good size. Very quite room.

In the heart of Times Square, the Marriott is still a very good hotel, even for a place over 30 years old. Good or bad - it does meet the expectations of a `typical' hotel in NYC - room size is OK, updated decor and bathrooms, crowded and boisterous common areas, well trained staff knowledgeable about the area and rest of the city. Being in the heart of Times Square and the Theater District, expect the usual crowds of tourists, both domestic and from overseas. Makes for a great melting pot of an experience. Add the business crowd and you have a glorious cross section of humanity. Patience is a virtue, especially in the common areas and waiting for elevators. Does make for an international atmosphere. Decent size rooms, most with partial and full views of the Times Square area. Same for the bathrooms - a bit tight but functional. Large fitness center with great views of the square. Also very nice Concierge Lounge with the same views. Probably ready for a makeover, hopefully in good time. OK service in the main restaurant on the 8th floor - typical NYC prices (meaning expensive) and service (use your imagination) Bottom line - wears 30+ years well, on a par with most of the other hotels in the area, great location, very convenient location HINT: The lights NEVER go out on Broadway (Think there is a song about that) - you will need to close the curtains. OTHER HINT - Don't drive - VERY expensive parking. Stick with mass transit
