First time staying at this hotel. We are Honors members and the complimentary waters were not in our room but they brought them up immediately to us. This is the largest hotel in New York with lots of history, worth googling. In our opinion, it's the best place to stay. Walking distance to everything you could want to see or a short cab ride away. We loved our room, very large and modern. The only thing missing is a coffee maker. All the employees were wonderful and helpful. I have two tiny suggestions: 1 please ask maids to wipe down the bathroom door. Really dirty and should take two seconds. 2 the tissue box holder has a hole too small for the tissues and ripped them to shreds every time. I had to take the box out to use the tissues. Small things..I'm picky lol..we highly recommend this property and will definitely stay here again.

"Nice Hotel"

Stayed here for 4 nights. Check in was a bit slow - they get very busy. When we arrived there was one attendant for the regular check in and 3 for the honors check in. Our room was spacious (for NY standards) and had a nice view from the 41st floor. The only complaints about the room are that the pillows smelled a little funky and the TV remote was not working very well. The room was made nicely every day and replenished with toiletries - the maids were very friendly. We did an express checkout - dropped keys & left. Overall a good hotel.

"Worth the Money .."

Yes this is a little more expensive, but it is worth it. Easy walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and Central Park. Simple 5 minutes to Subway and straight shot to Yankee Stadium - 20 mins tops. The rooms are clean and the elevators are separate don't by floors so not much standing around.

"Location location location"

The Hilton Midtown is the perfect location for exploring NYC. Five blocks to Central Park, 2 blocks to Radio City Music Hall, 3 blocks to Rockefeller Center, 3-4 blocks to the Theater District and Times Square. Plenty of great restaurants nearby including Bistro Milano. The hotel is busy and has a good energy. Friendly staff are ready to help. Free continental breakfast with plenty of options for Gold members. I would have liked to have seen more restaurant options in the hotel. If you have the Hilton app, you can request a digital key for accessing your room with your smartphone which is quite convenient. Wear comfortable shoes as walking is usually the most efficient mode of transportation. However, Subway access is nearby. Catch the R line to Battery Park at 57th and 7th. Cab or Lyft is $40 from LGA to the hotel.

"Such a disappointment"
TripAdvisor user rating 2 out of 5
Reviewed October 16, 2017 NEW
Whilst i wasn't expecting top notch service at a massive Hilton in NY i did think it would be comparable to other Hiltons where i have stayed around the world. On arrival the check in was really too long with only 2 people manning the desks but i had been warned by colleagues to expect this. Once in the room (tip:get in the right elevator as left and right sides don't go to the same floors) it seemed spacious enough. After a long haul flight i was a bit thirsty so i looked for a bottle of water. There were none. So i opened the mini bar which was empty...first disappointment. Next was my standard bug bear, but not one i come across in purportedly high end hotels, of a plastic shower curtain in the bathroom. These smell and naturally the bathroom smelled of damp. They also stick to you when you have a shower. This is 2017 - come on! Another tip - don't expect hot water on demand. Every day i had to let the water run for a very long time before getting hot water. One morning it took so long i called down but there was no answer to the phone so i hung up. There were supposed to be bathrobes in the room but there wasn't. I had breakfast on the first day - absolutely not worth the money. As a single female on business travel i often would rather eat in my room as opposed to sit alone in a restaurant. There is no room service in this hotel. Sure it is NY so you can get takeout (which i did) but it's not quite the same eating out of a box. On the last day i asked if i could check out 2 hours after the normal time. Bearing in mind i had spent 7 nights in the hotel i was somewhat taken aback that they required another $50 to check out 2 hours later particularly when i have to say that on many days they didn't make up my room until mid afternoon anyway. I didn't take the option. But it was the last so called "service" that put me off totally. So after not being able to keep the room for 2 hours i vacated it and went to leave my luggage downstairs only to find out that you have to pay $4 per case. It's not the amount that shocked me but the fact that this place should be so money grabbing as to not even allow its clients, that have paid exorbitant rates, to store their cases somewhere a couple of hours. I have never seen that in any hotel, Hilton or otherwise, or country before. Basically this place is factory where the only service they deliver is a bed. Given the rates they charge i really would have thought it should be better.
