"Cleaning not up to Par"

Great location. However, rooms weren't clean and the housekeeping was non existent. I would recommend looking for another hotel, there are plenty in the area. Also, walls are quite thin. If you are looking for a quiet room, this is not the place for you.

Nice hotel with big rooms. Rooms were clean and comfortable. However, room did not contain any drawers so had to live out of our suitcases. All that space and no storage for clothes! Room also did not contain any facilities for hot water for tea/coffee. For saying this is not a cheap hotel I think a kettle is a basic requirement. Asked several different staff members who kept saying they didn't have a kettle. Eventually I had to resort to standing at reception until one showed up, 2 minutes later hey presto, a kettle. Not a bad location for the subway but are better located hotels.

"Good location for us "

We stayed here for 8 nights for a special birthday. Room was a good size and clean. First room overlooked Broadway and we found this quite noisy but the hotel were happy to change the room to a quieter side. Staff were always helpful and charming. There is a cafe in the lobby where you can get breakfast and drinks at all times of the day. Plenty of cafes nearby. It is easy walking distance to a metro stop and about 20 minutes to the Lincoln Centre, 30 minutes to walk across to Central Park and down to Upper Manhattan.

"Great location - small and worn out"
TripAdvisor user rating 3 out of 5

We stayed here for our honeymoon all 9 days. It was £2000 for 9 days including taxes. The location was fantastic - nice safe place at night, upper west side a ten minute walk from the beautiful Central Park. The rooms are small (we had the standard room and didn't want to waste money on an upgrade). I still stand by my decision not to pay extra and use the money for other things, but the standard room is smaller - a lot smaller than the pictures I saw. I struggled with space to put my stuff and lived out my luggage. I asked for a nice view if possible and we looked out into a brick wall. The bathroom was really nice and the room serviced Daily. The decor is dark which doesn't help with the feeling that it's small. I try and think of London and I'm comparison to a Standard hotel room in London it was about the same size. You would just need to lower your expectations so as to not be disappointed as I was the first few days. The Decor was worn. There was a huge desk in the room but no set of draws for clothes. The closet was tiny. I would have used the desk draws to store clothes if they weren't seriously dirty inside. There were scratches on the headboard where the paint has come off. When it comes to the air-con you have two choices - off - overheat and don't sleep, or on and try and sleep with the sound of a mustang engine in your room. The noise was ridiculous.

Excellent hotel in a great neighborhood with access to everything: Great markets, coffee shops, bars & restaurants, even a CVS & Marshalls; also Riverside Park at river's edge across from NJ, Central Park, the Museum of Natural History & subway access to St. John the Divine Cathedral, Columbia University, Grant's Tomb, & in the other direction subway access to Times Square, Broadway shows and so much within walking distance: St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, the 42nd Street library, etc, etc. Any number of places to stop for rest & refreshments along the way! We so enjoyed our stay! Stop at the Tkts booth in Times Square for discounted Broadway show tickets. Saw 2 shows at 50% off, great center orchestra seats close to the stage.
