"Can’t really recommend"

This hotels has some pluses and minuses, but I can’t really recommend it, mainly due to the antiquated and very loud heating/cooling system. The radiator in our room sounded like someone banging very hard on the pipes, and would wake us up 2 to 3 times per night unless we shut it off completely. Unfortunately, frigid air blew into the room through the window which did not shut completely, so shutting off the radiator was not a viable option for us. We complained to the front desk, but they made it clear that there wasn’t much we could do other than switch rooms, and they strongly suggested that the problem was just due to old pipes throughout the hotel, and so there was no guarantee that we wouldn’t face the same issue in a different room. It’s too bad, because the front desk staff were generally friendly and responsive, and the hotel is very well located a couple blocks from the Subway, and a few blocks from Central Park. Coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby were nice. Rooms were okay, although a little on the small side even by New York standards. Bathroom maybe a little bigger than other New York hotels that we’ve stayed at. WiFi was adequate for the kids to watch some streaming videos. But our whole family was pretty glad to be leaving, as we were pretty exhausted from the 4 nights of interrupted sleep due to the radiator. Perhaps the radiator noise isn’t an issue during much of the year, but we are unlikely to risk it and stay here again. The front desk implied that the radiator noise is something that they will be addressing soon, but they didn’t mention any specific timeline.

My stay was great. I am grateful for your service and care. I highly commend your service to our team. My only distraction was the traffic and construction noise. Your staff was available and efficient. Well done! Thanks!

"Very disappointed "

The hotel took a cancellation fee from us despite telling us they wouldn't for a mistake made via the booking company. The room was very small and cramped and there was constantly some form of gas coming from the radiator. The hotel staff offered us a taxi to JFK for $75. To our surprise we ended up having to pay $95 to a very rude taxi driver. If you ever want that "dream trip of a lifetime to New York" DO NOT stay here.
