This hotel was only a short walk from Times Square and accessible to public transportation to all over the city. Very clean rooms and great guest services. The elevators were a little slow but not that big of a problem. Would definitely recommend hotel

"One of the worst, should be kicked out of IHG. Avoid"

April 6th-7th, 2018. As an IHG Platinum member, I had a very poor experience at the hotel especially during the check in. First of all, when we arrived at the hotel, the check-in staff showed totally no respects to us, she picked up three phones and talk with them for a very long time after she had already started my check in procedure, which finally makes us wait again and again. It took her 5 minutes to only check my ID, credit card and asked me to sign the paper. The check in staff even chatted with the other guy at the front desk for almost a minute during my check in. This is totally one of the poorest experience I have ever had in hundreds of my hotel experience. She definitely felt that everyone else are important than us. I do understand sometimes the check in procedure might be interrupted by incidents, but three, (one checking ice machine, one checking key card, one ask for directions, as well as chatting with others) is very annoying. After that we were told to have a Queen bed ADA room, while we booked a one-King room. Immediately, I requested to change to a King or 2 Double. I would be OK with any type of the two. However the check in staff claimed immediately there was no room left. Even after I mentioned I'm a platinum member, she wouldn't like to check through the system. And, IHG website still sold both types of the rooms (KING /2 Double), at the time, and even at an hour later when I checked online. Not even mentioning it was just 8pm. This is definitely one of the worst experience I had ever stayed in the hotel. After the stay we tried to contact the hotel twice, they gave out a bunch of excuses but no apologies. "Special requests for specific room or bed types are subject to availability upon arrival" is definitely not the reason to NOT honor the reservation, not to mention they were still selling the exact room types we asked for. Furthermore, the platinum welcome bonus is not offered, neither the welcome drink or the points. I have to ask for it on the second day. The worst is, the hotel even didn't feel they did anything wrong.

This hotel in Chelsea is in a great spot. From there our family of four walked to the Empire State Building, the Flatiron Building, the High Line, and Times Square. Our room was a city view double. It was on the 23rd floor and had a beautiful view of the Empire State Building. The space was small for a family of four, but clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The elevators were slow and the lobby was a bit too small for the crowds, but otherwise no complaints. Overall it was a good value for the money.

"Best price for NYC, but not likely to return"

Stayed for three nights after Christmas - two rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful at a very busy time of year. They were going to get us two rooms on one floor, but somehow this was mixed up and we had rooms on different floors which is not great when the elevators are so busy, but we got our exercise. Rooms on 3 and 8 - neither had a view of any description - one was a back alley, one was onto 26th. Surprised not to find a safe in either room. One had an ice bucket, one did not. Ice worked on 15th floor not 9th. Wifi was patchy, but not a problem. Rooms were clean. Same issue with coffee as previous reviewer - each day we were left two decaf and one regular, but front desk provided more regular. This was our 7th trip to NYC and we love morning walks. Unfortunately, we were on 29th St and had our first brush with danger - one of the homeless people walked right up and took a swing at one of us - dodged it - totally unprovoked and clearly mental health issues, but it was a reality check for us. Walked to Chelsea Market. Subway close. Walked to Macys. Beds were very comfortable. Halls are loud and there was a lot of weed drifting through the halls (not the hotel's fault, just an observation).

Stayed four nights after Christmas. WiFi was almost non-existent.Hallway heavily bashed up from carts. We were shorted towels on 2 of the four days. Coffee wasn't replenished properly. ( only decaf available ) Room was tiny. Lobby is very small and was mostly crowded. Room furnace tended to overheat the room after running and be quite cold before restarting.
