"Perfect room for two"
May, 2015
We showed up early before our room was ready so they held our bags for us while we explored New York and then called me when our room was ready. They actually got our room ready 2 hours before our check in time but let us check in early which was so nice! The room was perfect for two people and the New York traffic was barley existent while we were in our room which was very wonderful. The bed was so comfortable and the bathtub was deep and big enough for a romantic bubble bath with a glass of wine and chocolate covered strawberries from the shop down the street. It was such a wonderful stay and we are looking to stay there again on our next visit.
Tip: take a cork screw for wine

"CANCEL YOUR BOOKING NOW!!! If you have any Semele then you'll heed this warning from someone who is there at the moment"

Honestly! We're staying here now and booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. If you like jack hammer pneumatic drills starting outside your window at 11pm and continuing through the night then keep your booking, otherwise cancel and book elsewhere NOW! We've had 3 nights so far of unbearable noise and the hotel won't provide any recompense for the sleep disruption. They managed to move our 2 boys to a room at the back of the hotel last night at 11.30pm but they had to share a queen bed instead of having a bed to themselves as we had booked and paid for. Tonight, they have moved us all to rear bedrooms but our boys are having to share a bed again (which is not what we paid for). The customer service has been shocking. It's the worst I've ever experienced. The lady we were told was the general manager, Belitza, turns out to be just front of house and says she cannot make a decision to compensate us for the noise we've had and the issue with changing rooms. There's no empathy there whatsoever. She has told us tonight that her general manager has said that the hotel will not do anything to compensate for the jack hammer noise we've had and the lack of sleep, plus not actually getting what we have paid for anyway! Please take heed and book elsewhere, it's simply not worth it. UPDATE - we finally got Belitza to ring her general manager and she left him a voicemail where we also played a recording of the incessant jack hammer noise down the phone. We insisted on waiting for a response. Later she said she had also text messaged him. A little later she said that she had had a response from the manager offering some compensation. Very poor customer service in an industry that should be 100% customer service led. We've travelled all over America and experienced excellent customer service in the most unlikely tiniest of places and it's safe to say that this is the worst service and most arrogant attitude we've ever experienced from a hotel - the general manager needs to wake up and smell the coffee and realise that his business is all about his customers getting a good nights sleep.

Pros: - Close to Time Square - Close to Central Park - Close to Rockefeller Centre - Close to 5th Avenue Shopping - Close to St Patrick's Cathedral - Close to the American Girl Store - Close to many attractions - Quiet hotel - No busy crowds - Non tipping hotel, any fees are added to your account - Good Value for Money - Has a convenience store/pharmacy about 200m away - There is a burger joint just across the road if you have kids or something quick to eat - Has a business centre on the premises, that you can access to print documents or browse on the computer -The Reception are prompt with email replies - The staff are friendly and helpful - Bedroom was tidied daily, beds made, towels replaced, products replaced. - Room had a safe and fridge Cons: - Due to being a historical building, the furnishings are quiet dated, only an issue if you prefer a modern feel. - The bathroom doesn't have any bench space besides a little glass shelf, which is s hassle if you use hair straighteners or have various bathroom products. - The fold out bed springs on the sofa were quiet hard, which is a common problem on fold outs. Just be mindful as this can be uncomfortable for the person sleeping on it. - The aircon was quiet noisy and loud and we found it was a little temperamental, so sometimes when it was humid the room didn't really cool down. - We stayed in one of the larger suites and unfortunately our bedroom overlooked a business building. So everyone could see right into our window. The sheer curtains didn't hide much. I'm not sure if the bigger curtains were just decorative or if they closed, but we didn't try so I'm not sure. - For two days we didn't really have much access to wifi as it wouldn't connect, we tried all the traditional avenues trying to get it to work. The few days prior it connected great. - there was no microwave, which is really handy when you have children. - obviously due to certain building restrictions there is only so much that can be done, but the only other issue we found was the lighting was quiet dark. The room had many lamps, but one of them didn't work so the lighting wasn't great unless you turned on all 5 lights. Overall this is a good place to stay due to the price and great location. We have stayed here on two occasions. The first time it was just my partner and I, which we found was perfect for just the both of us. With a family I would possibly look at staying somewhere more child friendly. Somewhere that may have activities or a pool. Only due to the fact that my daughter was over all the walking by the second day and it would have been great to have something on site that she could have done. Thanks again for a pleasant stay 3 West Club!

Stayed here for 4 nights while in New York. Hotel is small which was nice and staff was very friendly. Right across the road from radio city and Rockefeller centre. Very close to Times Square maybe 5 min walk. Convenience Store just down the road. Would definitely recommend and stay here again

I live in NYC but just wanted to treat myself with a Rockefeller center hotel. The good: location is great close to st. paddy's, radio city music hall and lots of restaurants. Rooms are small and don't have alot of amenities but makes up for it with by being clean and housekeeping does a good job every day the bad: the front desk was hit or miss we met a nice guy named Marc on the graveyard shift who was helpful. On the flip side there was a front desk African American lady called Belsa (more like beelzebub..) that just seemed so miserable. I never ever write reviews but asking the most simple things we got rudeness and indifference. Everyone else was friendly though. I know I'm properly being overly sensitive by not wanting to return due to 1 employee but with so many other options I'll hop on to the next.

Reserved a room with a king bed in this hotel. We arrived a half hour prior to check in and were told we could wait until 3pm to get the room we reserved, or check into a room with a queen bed. We opted to wait and went across the street to Rockefeller Center to sit outside on the benches there. When we returned, we were told we could be upgraded to a master suite at no additional charge. Of course we took it! The suite was roomy, very clean and not nearly as dated as I expected based on other reviews. However, this hotel is not meant to reflect a contemporary, or modern, atmosphere. That said, the bathroom appeared to have been fairly recently updated. The bed, along with all other furnishings, were very comfortable. The linens were in perfect condition. All the basic toiletries were stocked. If I were staying in the City for an entire vacation, I may not have opted for this hotel due to lack of amenities. There is a restaurant that serves breakfast at an add'l charge and we were aware of this at the time we booked. However, at check-in, we were told it is closed on Fridays for the summer. This was a bit of an inconvenience in planning our time for the second day of our stay. There is a deli next door, but we opted to walk two blocks to "Toasties". This actually turned out for the best as there was a wide variety of meal options with quick service and plenty of indoor seating. Also, the cost was cheaper than what we would have paid to eat at the hotel. I did not find out until after I booked this hotel that it's owned by the Republican Women's Club. If you are concerned about this, the only elements reflecting the political bent, that I saw, was a small iron elephant statue in the lobby and one of the floors had a large picture of Nancy Reagan you could see from the elevator. We did not go to the "Pub" for drinks or dinner so I cannot comment on that. We were also able to leave our bags in the coat room from the time we checked out at 9AM until we returned back at 6PM to pick them up. This hotel is all about location, location, location if your goal is to explore Manhattan.
