from Discover NY
The wonders of NYC will dazzle you as you learn the history of this iconic place. See NYC's famous landmarks and neighborhood by bus, foot and boat cruise!

After a drive through the Times Square area, the first stop is at Central Park West and 72nd Street, at the Dakota Building (former home of John Lennon). The stop includes a short guided walk into Central Park to visit the Strawberry Fields with the Imagine mosaic dedicated to John Lennon, as well as the views of other sites in the area such as the luxury condominiums that numerous celebrities call home. We'll also drive by Central Park Zoo, famous Plaza Hotel and Carnegie Hall.

The second stop on the tour is Rockefeller Center, for views of St. Patrick's Cathedral, the location of the ice skating rink and Christmas Tree, and NBC's Today Show set.

The third stop is Madison Square Park - the original location of Madison Square Garden Arena. This area provides spectacular views of dramatic architecture featured in numerous books and films: the Flatiron Building (Godzilla, Spider-Man), the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower (The Runaway Skyscraper, Futurama), and the Empire State Building (King Kong, Independence Day).

The tour continues with a drive through some of the iconic NYC's neighborhoods, such as Greenwich Village, Soho, Chinatown, and the Financial District.

En route to the fourth stop, we drive by Wall Street for views of the New York Stock Exchange, Federal Hall (the location of the first Capitol Building of the United States), Trinity Church, and a drive by the famous Charging Bull sculpture on Broadway.

The fourth stop is the World Trade Center, as we visit the 9/11 Memorial. The tour does not include entry into the 9/11 Museum, but visitors can walk the grounds of the Memorial, visit the waterfalls of "Reflecting Absence," (the footprints of where the original twin towers stood), and see the Survivor Tree that stood up to the destruction of 9/11.

Around 1 pm, we'll stop for a quick lunch break at the Fulton 55 Market.

The fifth stop is at Pier 15 for the 2:30 pm boat cruise (note: in off-season, between Jan 1 - Apr 1, in lieu of boat cruise, guests visit Grand Central Terminal) with the Hornblower to experience magnificent views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines, iconic Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg bridges, Governor's Island, Ellis Island, and a 360 degree turn in front of the Statue of Liberty for amazing photo opportunities!

The boat docks back at Pier 15 in Midtown Manhattan, where we board our bus to continue the tour, as we drive back to our original departure point on 7th Avenue.

This tour was brilliant. The host Gil has so much information I don’t know how his dead didn’t explode with it all. The bus was comfortable and deliciously warm. The stops were thought out and took us through all of the New York landmarks with very informed commentary. Wear good comfortable walking shoes is my only recommendation.

"Great tour for first timers (Tyler) "

Last September, we spent six days visiting NYC, specifically Midtown. This was our first time in the city and wanted to make the best of our time. On the day before our departure, we met to embark in a 5-6 tour of Uptown, Midtown and Downtown Manhattan. Tyler, our tour guide, is very knowledgeable and friendly. Our bus was packed with people from all over which was great. We drove through many sites and when we went out of the bus for a walk, Tyler had her umbrella up so we wouldn't lose track of her in the crowd. We stopped for a restroom break at 30 Rock and went on our way to Downtown where we had a light lunch before embarking on a tour by boat to see The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the beautiful bridges with the skyscrapers in the background. Even though we were not feeling 100% due to motion sickness it was very enjoyable. At the end, we got back in our bus and had a glimpse of The United Nations building while Tyler was recommending places to go eat and things to do. When the tour was over, we were at the same spot we started and had a chance to thank her for her service, knowledge and enthusiasm to keep us going for so many hours together and in a good mood. If we ever go back, we'd love to have her again, except for the boat part because we don't have sea legs.

"6 hour city tour is a must and ask for a Gil!"

We did the six hour city tour. Gil was our tour guide. Not only is he very knowledgeable, but he is also fun and entertaining. He pointed out a lot of sites that were a part of TV shows and movies which I loved. This tour hits all the highlights in the city. I highly recommend it. My only suggestion is they figure out how to put outlets in the seats to allow you to charge your phone to take pictures.

We really enjoyed our guided tour. Tim was our tour guide and Roy the driver. This was our first time to the city and had two days to visit. Glad we chose this tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable on so many aspects of the city. He had a great deal of knowledge on movies and entertainment. I loved his enthusiasm. This tour allows you a taste of several things. Great experience.

Frequently Asked Questions about Discover NY

How long is the tour?
The tour is six hours long, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily.

What if I show up late, or just a few minutes before the scheduled departure time?
We highly recommend you arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled departure time to ensure your reservation is honored. You have up to ten (10) minutes before the scheduled departure time to ensure your seat on the tour. Ten (10) minutes before the departure time, we note outstanding reservations as "no-shows." If we have walk-up passengers, they will be given a ticket and will be boarded at this time.

What kind of trucks or vans does USA Guided Tours use?
We use 35-passenger shuttle vans for daily mixed tour groups. Private tours are scheduled on our 15-passenger vans. We do our best to keep large, same-party groups together on the same bus. We reserve the right to substitute our larger 55-passenger buses, depending upon demand and/or our tour schedule. The 55-passenger buses have bathrooms on board for your convenience.

Are we allowed to bring baby strollers and/or wheelchairs on board the tour vehicles?
Unfortunately, the shuttles are not wheelchair accessible, nor is there storage for baby strollers. If you have a wheelchair, please call us to make special vehicle arrangements for your tour. Some of our tours involve longer walks so if you like, you may stay on board the shuttle, near the landmark, without exiting the shuttle bus every time.

Is the tip included in the tour ticket price?
Tips are not included in the tour ticket price.

Are we allowed to bring carry-on luggage on the tour vehicle?
The shuttle buses and vans do not have storage for accommodating carry-on bags. We ask that you only bring purses, briefcases, or backpacks for your tour; Please note that USA Guided Tours reserves the right to inspect any bags, book bags, briefcases or backpacks you carry.

How long do we stay at each stop on my tour?
It depends on the stop. Your tour guide will tell you the planned amount of time for each stop. We have allowed enough time at every stop for you to walk around and take plenty of pictures!

Can I be picked up at my hotel?
Pickup services available from selected hotels are offered. Please call the phone number on your booking confirmation to arrange pickup services.
